Bought this unit late December of 2010 and it just stopped putting out heat the day after the return policy expired. Of course! Now I am out a hundred dollars or I can pay to return ship and only get a partial refund. YAY! Don't say I didn't warn you!

I have owned this heater for nearly two years, and have yet to have a single problem with it. If the flame is too bright, switch the light bulb out to a 7 watt nightlight. I use a 4 watt LED nightlight, and the glow reminds me of coal fires from England. The only (and it is the ONLY) drawback is that the lightbulb is accessed by taking off a panel with a screwdriver. A panel that opens with a latch would be better, but I believe the makers didn't figure a lot of people switching the bulbs to customize the flame effect. This unit puts out as much heat (5115 BTU's) as the more expensive models. It truly is a bargain for the price. Combined with a plug-in thermostat, it's just about perfect.

Dimplex #CS12056A compact electric stove. I order this stove on Friday the Oct.7th, and it is here Monday,the 10th. Amazon, you're the best!
I bought the Dimplex because I all ready own a larger model, that is five years old,and has worked great from the start. It was $99.00 back then. I wanted to buy another one, but then all of a sudden the prices went crazy, a similar Dimplex to the orignal one was going for $300. So in the mean time I bought a small Duraflame model.Big dissappointment. Sounded like a hair dryer when you turned on the heat and the flame motor by itself was noisy. I immediately wanted the quiet flame and heater of a Dimplex model.
This Dimplex compact model is a good size for this 130 year old farmhouse.I all ready tested the flame and heat, no noise at all.So now I have two Dimplex models. Both are centerpieces, one for the living room and one for the family room.
